All the hype and media attention of recent days still have not witness a deal sealed between the two corporations. VW were tipped to have been happy with a 51%-49% deal, but requested for better tax incentives. Khazanah Holdings on the other hand might have pushed for control terms which do not interest the Germans. Talks are scheduled to continue… |

YAB Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak recently attended the first roll out of the locally assembled Swift in Pahang. The already popular hatchback is estimated to boost its brand new sales with better price structure of the CKD units. Bad news for existing owners as second hand price might be interfered. |

Ford’s troublesome PAG has requested financial firms and banks to assist their attempt to sell off Jaguar and Land Rover. Jaguar, a persistent money drainer, and Land Rover, gas guzzling and CO emission outlaw manufacturer, are both proven to be tiresome for Ford to maintain. If a buyer is unfounded, the plants in Solihull, Castle Bromwich and Halewood in the UK, could be jeopardised. If the companies are sold off to a money siphoning corporation, then we could be witnessing another Rover-MG saga.

Mercedes Smart Car division has released the two seater Smart town car with a 0.8 liter diesel engine. The main theme scripted on the role of the car being a “globe saver . And so it is…for now. Consuming 3.3 liter at 100km, the Smart derivative beats Prius and Polo Bluemotion on mileage and CO2 emission. Danger for Hybrid developers as the objectives are achieved better with less R&D.
